Gezi rebellion on 28 May 2013 It was a moral and conscientious movement that had never been seen before in these lands, demanding the dignity of humans and nature back. This was a rebellion that challenged not only political power, but also the concept of power itself, questioned even traditional opposition structures, and did not contain any power within itself. It was a movement that included different and fresh voices, a lot of humor, and created a space for itself with a perspective where no one could have power over anyone else. Young or old, right or leftist, liberal, environmentalist, Alevi or Sunni, Turkish, Kurdish or Armenian, Ataturkist or anti-capitalist Muslim, woman with or without a headscarf, homosexual, transvestite, student, worker, tradesman or unemployed, It managed to bring together millions of people from all social segments in the same libertarian quest. Moreover, he did this with a new language and way of saying things. Gezi practice showed us that another politics, another language, and more importantly, another solidarity is possible.
The Gezi experiment took place roughly in the following conjuncture: A religious party, in a cultural sense, as the primary target He was trying to redesign society with an understanding of morality that filled life with Islamic and traditional values. On the other hand, he was trying to establish an economically unbridled liberal system and thus build domination. When the attempt to eliminate Gezi Park was added to all these negative conditions, a new style of opposition emerged, which we can call the "Gezi effect", with a complete domino effect. This was exactly the content of the subject I called "Travel Lessons" in the most general sense.
Of course, when we say "Gezi Effect", we mean the crudest form displayed by the state, the bullet that caused hundreds of people to be injured, disabled and killed. We should not forget the effects of TOMA and pepper gas. Let us once again commemorate the resisters who occupied Taksim Square for two weeks with a Paris Commune-like resistance…
