THE LASTING
How a black would smile with his teeth of light
forgotten hunger and disease
“With European upbringing”
desperate
How many centuries has this robbery dried up
discarded peoples
in clusters tired of fading
spilling children
innocent
How a black that will smile with eyes from the light
joining yellow and white's smile
work—brother, companion poor
no query
It's hard to sleep in this world
one head if not sold
if the heart stays in place
If "nigga" is the lid of his eyes
sleepless
“Then it'll be me
this is unhappy” *…
